Jane Rubietta

Jane's passion is to see people's hearts restored by the knowledge of the truth that God absolutely delights in them, that God is crazy about them, that God would give everything on earth to make sure they know they are loved. The problem is, she says, "we have lost our hearts. We are so busy stamping out fires and tending to a thousand urgencies every day, that we don't remember, don't notice, that our hearts have gotten trampled somewhere in all the stamping.”

“I believe that every issue we face - whether busyness, failure, shame, transitions - every issue is intended to lead us to God," she says. "Our tendency is to let our problems separate us from God and one another - but instead, they can become tools to allow us to deepen our spiritual lives, and to in turn change the world!"

After obtaining a B.S. in Business from Indiana University, Jane completed graduate studies in Germany while also forming and directing an international drama team, taking the gospel into then Communist countries. She worked on her Master's at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.

Jane is assistant coordinator and faculty member of Write-To-Publish Writer's Conference, where she finds enormous joy in helping others follow their God-given dreams. She belongs to Advanced Writers and Speakers' Association (AWSA) and SpeakUp! Speaker Services.

DETAILS

Schedule

From March 12 (Wed) 3:00 PM through March 14 (Fri) lunch time.

Events

  • Music and worship with Jeannie Johnson and Beth Kanda.
  • Massage Ministry:  Massage therapist, Becky Ransome, will be taking 15 minute appointments to massage our weary muscles. For only Y500 you can take advantage of Becky's ministry, so be sure to sign up at the registration table before all her "slots" are taken!
  • Scapbooking with Edie: Can't seem to make time for scrapbooking? Join Edie Town & other ladies Thursday afternoon and get a page or two completed! Bring your own photos, then use all Edie's supplies for only Y1,000.
  • God's Gift Exchange in the Woodshed:  Come to retreat ready to share the creativity God has given you!  One evening after our time with Jane we will gather together in the Woodshed for a time of "exchanging" God's Gifts with each other. A poem, song, musical piece, handicraft, Scripture reading, dance, piece of art, food...we want to rejoice together in God's creative work in our midst. (There are people who are willing to play piano to accompany you if necessary.)

Costs

  • The non-refundable registration fee is 2000 yen.
  • For 2 nights and 6 meals, the cost is 20,000 yen for a twin room and 17,500 yen for a tatami or bunkbed room. These costs are in addition to the registration fee.
  • Twin rooms are always in high demand. They will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. You are welcome to indicate your second choice in the comment section of your registration form.
